Teaser #4 and Title

Earlier this week I posted the fourth and final teaser for the Web comic. Today I posted the title page. As you can see, the title is The Manuscript. We kickoff the story next week on January 3rd. Be sure to come back.

Pre-Christmas Update

In addition to the Web comic that Steve and I are creating, I've been talking with frequent collaborator Tim McClurg about serializing stories on the Web. I've written a number of stories for Tim and we are looking forward to bring those together. The tentative plan is to start with a page a week beginning in mid-January. More details to come.

I finished another two pages for the story with Steve this evening and feel a little better about the progress I'm making with it. By the end of the year, I should have the first part complete.

Teaser #3 Is Up!

I just finished posting the third teaser for the Web comic I'm doing with Steve Black. Look for the fourth teaser next week (along with the title reveal) and the first installment the first week of January.

Script Writing

I wrote a couple more pages of the script for the Web comic today. I have a decent idea of where I want the story to end up, and I had spent so much time thinking about the beginning of the story that I was able to tear through that in one sitting, but now I'm having a harder time getting through the middle part.

I also have to consider the format of the story more than I did originally. I had first conceived of this story as a single-issue comic. Now that Steve and I are presenting it as a Web comic, I feel more of a need to make each page/installment interesting of its own accord and with enough suspense to keep a reader coming back the following week.

I'm still excited by the project. Steve's art has really inspired me to make this story work.

Another Blog?

Realizing that the three other blogs I currently run and three others I contribute to weren't enough, I've decided to start another blog, this time to strictly focus on Jury Rigged Comics. I try to keep up with the Jury Rigged Comics Web site, but often have minor news or status to report that either aren't worth updating the site for or don't have a clear place as the site is currently designed.

This blog is the answer. It will highlight what is happening with Jury Rigged Comics, provide updates on current projects, and even track what has happened with prior projects. In an informal way, I hope to keep anyone who is interested informed about the what, when, how, and whys of Jury Rigged Comics.
